GGG could go to 168 for a fight with Ramirez and then win or lose immediately return to 160 and retain all his middleweight titles and keep trying to unify all the middleweight titles. GGG is an old small middleweight. That is his proper weight class. Keeping a 168 pound title and permanently fighting at an unnaturally heavy weight would be stupid and make things harder for himself than they need to be. He should stay at middleweight and continue to KO all willing and deserving challengers 3 or 4 times a year.
So you're saying Middleweight boxers don't need to prove anything moving up?

''154-168 is easy for Golovkin'' - Sanchez
''154-168 is easy for me'' - Golovkin

The thing is this applies to majority of the other boxers who start their career atleast a division under than their natural weight class. As they say that always select the division just below natural weight class to have an upper hand.

You see almost every other fighter cutting down to make the weigh in.

This doesnt apply to golovkin as he could have choosen to be a JMW as his pro start and then move up to MW but unlike others he just started at MW as his first choice and still is considered as a light MW.

But looking at his skills I see him dominating 168 as well despite the weight disadvantage and he may very well move up after being undisputed champ which would be the wisest decision.

Not going to happen. GGG is the guy who won't budge on weight, and we're supposed to think he's going to fight a young, powerful guy who brings no money and looks like he belongs at LHW?

Dude Ramirez is skinny boned. That's like saying Andy Lee should be at Super Middleweight. DeMarco has always been a skinny dude, just like a Jesus Soto Karass. I've noticed that some Mexican boxers are just like that. Just like Erik Morales. These guys come in on weight because they're primarily skinny and tall boned.

Come on brah. Golovkin a ''Small Middleweight?'' Therefore Curtis Stevens is one too? Lemieux? Are those guys taller than Lil'G?

Sometimes you guys need to be more objective with these justifications. How many Lil'G fans have been saying for the longest that Golovkin can beat anybody from 154-168? you guys don't find this sad?

They said plenty of times that the focus is on 160, though they can try 168 for a big fight. Who is Ramirez? First time hear this name

                Who is Wade?

If you watched boxing last night, Ramirez - the Southpaw - is the first Mexican Super Middleweight champ.

Wade is a contender sanctioned by IBF, any problems?
Yes Ramirez is a champ now who beat an old one sided German veteran on a decline, but is he a big name? Not sure

Tureano Johnson was scheduled for Lil'G, but then the 3rd ranked Wade was the calling for substitution.

You're playing Abraham like saying Swift Garcia, Maidana, or Khan beating and old Morales or Barrera is any different? Do boxing critics say, ''because he was old?'' Why would industry even promote fights if fighters are ''old?'' Dude, Abraham is only 2 years older than Lil'G....

Lol at the GGG haters. Rameriz is a plodding fighter with no power and minimal skill. He's exactly like all the fighters GGG fought so far and yet you guys pick him to win cause hes a bit bigger? AA wasnt even trying to fight. He was in survival mode since the opening bell. 168 is a joke of a division like 160.
