yeah he did, but it was james whitmore's character of brooks that made the deepest connection with me emotionally...

another movie with hope as it's theme is "v for vendetta"... brilliantly embodied in a masked character...

Believe it or not but forrest gump got best picture over Shawshank in 94'.

gump was good i it's own right though...

but "going my way" beating billy wilder's influential film noir "double indemnity" for oscar best picture was far more worse...

You should watch Bad Boys - I think it was Clancy Browns first movie. He played a villain in a juvenile detention hall. It's a great movie, you should check it out....
