  • Chagaev vs. Oquendo will be for the WBA "world" title on June 7

Ruslan Chagaev (BoxRec #24) vs. Fres Oquendo (BoxRec #33) should not be for a world title. Neither fighter has a win over a top 25 (or arguably even a top 50 heavyweight) in many years.

I like Ruslan and it's a fairly interesting matchup, but having this fight for the WBA title seems to be a new low for the sanctioning organization.

Lol... How is this a title fight.. There are dozens of more qualified fighters..

But boxing has better matchmaking than mma. Doe

lol Chagaev ducked Luis Ortiz. How can Oquendo fight for a title when he's only ranked #6 by the WBA?

              God damn mother ****ing disgrace.

It's a division with a CLEAR champion. They're getting enough in sanctioning fees, ain't they? **** the WBA.

It's harmful to the heavyweight division to have a fight like this for a "world" title.

There are plenty of good young contenders like Jennings, Glazkov, etc who are better qualified.

What a joke. I'm waiting to see what Chagaev has left in him, though.
