  • Comments Thread For: Felix Strum Back on April 13, Geale or Pirog Next?

According to a few sources, German television network Sat.1, has reserved a date of April 13th for the next title defense for WBA middleweight king Felix Sturm (36-2-2, 15KOs). There have been reports that Sturm is considering a unification for that date, with undefeated WBO champion Dmitry Pirog (19-0, 15KOs) and IBF beltholder Daniel Geale (26-1, 15KOs) as the leading candidates. Both Pirog and Geale are very interested in facing Sturm, although Pirog would probably be a more likely candidate with Geale already scheduled for a hometown bout in Tasmania on February 29th.

That's a freaking cheek not having even one rematch against his last two very close decision wins, both somewhat controversial.

    No respect for Sturm.

I agree, I also doubt that he would face either Pirog or Geale TBH. And, he doesn't want any part of Golovkin.

He's still living off the Oscar fight.

Absolutely, positively no way he fights Pirog. Sturm always talks a good game right before he signs to fight guys like Ronald Hearns and Jamie Pittman. He will retire as "champion" and then complain that all the other "champions," from Hopkins, Taylor, Pavlik and Abraham to Martinez, Pirog and Golovkin, ducked him

Sturm vs. Pirog is one I'd like to see.

Unifying with another titleholder is the only way Sturm can avoid Golovkin right now. The WBA is finally forcing him to fight Gennady.
