That is what he gets for signing with Bob Arum. He should have known that Arum doesn't give a rat's ass.. about African-American boxers and wouldn't promote him well. If he didn't realize it before, this should definitely wake him up.

One guy is moving up too slowly and the other guy may be rushing things but we will soon find out if Lomachenko is ready to fight a good proven pro champion. Russell looks good enough to be a champion now so why wait and waste some of his prime as a contender?

Lomachenko vs Russell will be sick but Loma is level above talent wise.

Why is GRJ being compared to Loma, one of the greatest amatuers ever? If Loma getting a title fight in his 2nd fight shames Russell, then it shames everyone else in the sport too.

I really don't understand why people are so impatient with GRJ. He obviously has hand problems, and he's still not ready to take on the elite - motherfockers, if he ain't ready, he ain't ready, it's simple. It's not a race. And it's not like he's being mercilessly being shoved down our throats like a Broner. He doesn't even have a fraction of the hype Wilder gets (another mostly unproven prospect who is moved very slowly)

He just looks like a very talented fighter who is moving slower than we all would like. All this bleating about him makes so little sense right now.

Because he refuse to sign over his soul to one of these Promotions and I really don't blame him.

But nobody said being Independent is easy. Oscar and Mayweather could pull it off because they are both Charismatic and had somewhat of a following which lets be honest Bob Arum did help them build up and then they did their own thing. Russell trying to do his own thing from the very beginning of his career that is going to be very hard to pull off especially with him being very humble and quiet guy

He should fight any of these two champions next

                  Robinson Castellanos WBC Silver champion
Jesus Andres Cuellar WBA interim champion

Hard to get the good fights with a ****ty promoter but what's even worse than a ****ty one is no one at all. But i dont buy that's it..... if you keep winning you have to be faced it's simple as that.

Actually reading online he may have just recently signed with Golden Boy I'm not sure exactly.
Its obvious that he will have a hard time getting fights with certain guys but he declined Ponce and Franco, who would be massive step ups. The ponce fight would have probably been on a GBP card and Showtime, so it would def be in the right direction, so why turn it down?
