Highly touted lightweight prospect Mercito "No Mercy" Gesta may return on the undercard of the Brandon Rios-Yuriorkis Gamboa WBA lightweight title matchup on April 14 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev., according to Gesta's trainer/manager Vincent Parra.
Gesta (24-0, 12 KOs), of San Diego, Calif. by way of Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines, would probably face another tune-up opponent, said Parra, but Parra says the plan that promoter Bob Arum has lined up for him after that in the Summer "will take everybody by surprise."
Gesta and Rios have gone back and forth in the media, calling each other out for a fight that never materialized but Parra says the plan isn't to face the Mexican-American should he win.
"It's not Rios. Bigger."

Looks like Parra really wants a fight with Marquez for Gesta. Pretty foolish if you ask me. Gesta would look good if he puts up a close fight. But he could be sent to Bautista land the same way Bautista was overwhelmed by Ponce.
What would possess Parra to take a fight like this?
If Gesta loses this so called tune up. That would leave Arum scrambling for a replacement, wonder what Arum's back up plan would be.
