I think the point OP is trying to make is that GGG moved up in weight similar in age to other guys like Mayweather & Cotto.

For example:

-When Maweather was 19 he was fighting at 130 pounds.
-When Golovkin was 19 years old he was fighting 141 pounds.

-When Golovkin was 21 years old he was fighting at 152 pounds.
-When Mayweather was 21 years old he was fighting at 135 pounds.

Over the years, Mayweather has gone up 17 pounds. Similarly, Golovkin has moved up 19 pounds in the same time frame. The difference of course is Floyd was a pro while Golovkin didn't turn pro until he was 23 or 24.

We can throw Andre Ward in for comparison:

-When Andre Ward was 20 years old, he was fighting at 178 pounds.
-When Andre Ward was 29 years old, he was fighting at 168 pounds.
-When Andre Ward was 31 years old, he was fighting at 172 pounds.

Man this is a really stupid thread, I mean really stupid..Am and pro's are night and day..thats like saying Bradley should be at super middle weight since he fought at 165 in the Amateurs ..Hell Floyd was at 118

Bradley fought higher in the AMs then went down in weight whereas Floyd started low and consistently built his way up.

Golovkin was 140 pounds at 18 years old amateur.
Floyd was at 125 at 18 years old.

Now they're both into their 30s and its known its harder for bigger men to move up in weight but since then both guys have only moved up relatively 20 pounds since they were 18.

Golovkin was 169 on fight night in his last fight.

I've seen a lot of people question why Golovkin doesn't/hasn't moved up in weight so far in his career, without realising he fought at junior welterweight (141) and welterweight (152) at the start of his amateur career, so he has moved up in weight. Not as much as the likes of Pac and Floyd, but he has moved up almost 20 pounds since he started boxing.

Did you even read my post? I don't know what this thread has to do with Floyd or why you're even mentioning him. I already said Golovkin hasn't moved up as much as Pac or Floyd.

GGG isn't growing anymore, and there are guys at 154 that are bigger than him. Middleweight is where he belongs, Hagler stuck around 160 and he had a fine career.
