Dominant wins over Toney and Hopkins in there primes are far greater the Hearns squeaking by Benitez and his next best win is against who? Pipino Cueves. Its not even close no objective person can say Hearns beat better competition or has a better resume

and yes Hopkins was in his prime 27 years old and went on to win like 25 in row after Roy beat him.
Hearns beat Leonard in the second fight. Granted, Leonard wasnt quite prime, but still was coming off the 'win' over Hagler and beat LaLonde afterward.
    Duran wasnt prime, no.

Hearns didnt 'squeek by' Benitez at all, maybe you should watch the fight. and Benitez was an outstanding fighter, and imo at his best at 154lbs. Theres no doubt that Hearns' win over Benitez was greater than Jones' win over Hopkins, Hopkins was 4+ years away from his prime, as further shown when he struggled against Mercade a year after the Jones fight.

The Toney win is definitely Jones' biggest win. but imo its not enough to eclipse Hearns' wins over Cuevas, Shuler, Andries, Espada, Gray, Curry, Finch, Shields, Roldan, Duran, Leonard, Roldan, and Virgil Hill, who Hearns beat in his prime and in the middle of his large streak of title defences.
yes, Im well aware that Jones beat Hill as well(one of his best wins), but Hearns beat a more prime one and Hearns was also a former Welterweight.

so maybe he was a little younger when he started boxing, although I have to question if he was able to take it seriously while in jail.
He was an amateur, but then spent most of his time being a criminal and went to jail, he was above average I believe but definately did not have the amateur experience of RJ.

as most think hearns willingness to face the better oposition is the key factor here

He didn't beat Leonard it was a draw.

Come on you no one can really believe that wins over
          Benitez
          Hill
          Cuevas

are even remotely close to wins over
          Hopkins
          Toney
          Ruiz

and Roy's secondary wins are 10x better then Hearns secondary wins

The Leonard 'draw' was obviously a robbery. Leonard was dropped twice in the fight, and even Leonard admitted that he lost the fight. Dont be blind.

Leonard coming off a Hagler win>green Hopkins
            Benitez=Toney
Hill>Ruiz(Hearns jumped just as many divisions to beat Hill as Roy did to fight Ruiz, and Hill was not only higher ranked at the weight class but a p4p better fighter overall)

Cuevas was a destroyer at WW and the second best in the division when Hearns beat him. dont underrate him.

It's jones, and its not even close.

Jones started to get beat when he moved down from HW to MW.

Dude was a freak, unmatchable, beat easily Toney, only dude to beat clearly Hopkins.

Hearns had flaws, Jones was unmatchable, unbeatable.

This is about what they did not head 2 head.

                  No fighter is unbeatable.

                  Try again.

I picked Jones in a heartbeat. IMO Hearns was not smart enough of a fighter to be on Jones level. I understand those who picked Hearns, but at the same time to me there is no doubt.
