I agree with this.
Oh no, he still fought dirty. Not as much as usual because he didnt have to and because a competent ref was in the ring, but you can still see him hitting low and leading with the head in a few situations.

Not that it affected the outcome in any way.

I know he hit Tito in the dick once or twice, but Tito was the king of hitting foreigners in the dick. You saw what the little ***** did to Vargas when he was about to get KTFO'd.

It's Trinidad, hands down.

All these newer fans will say Tarver, or Pascal, or even Pavlik, but for anybody that's been watching his career for years the obvious choice is Tito. Like Diego said, he was 36 years old and considered old THEN, furthermore, he wasn't given a snowball's chance in hell of winning the fight : Tito was red hot, undefeated, p4p#2 in the world, and had just made the jump from 154 to 160 to capture a title within 5 brutal rounds against a damn good career Middleweight in his own right in William Joppy, proving he could still bang and hold his own at 160.

The general feeling that night was that Hopkins was going to his own funeral, and you just had to be watching at the time to understand that. Hell, the entire Middleweight Unification tournament was set up by HBO and Don King for Tito en route to a superfight with p4p#1 Roy Jones. Hopkins wasn't even an afterthought. This night was created for Trinidad.

And to go out there with his back against the wall the way he did and not just win, but absolutely dominate, school, and stop Trinidad is about as good as it gets as far as pissing in the face of your critics goes.

There was a few times where he butted him, but they werent too serious.

The Antonio Tarver fight and its not even close.

It has to be the Trinidad fight.

He was a huge underdog going up against a guy who was knocking out everyone he faced and it was his first real big fight. Instead of crumbling under Tito's bombs he took Tito to school and dominated him over 12 rounds even stopping him in the final round.

Excellent performance from start to finish and a win that brought him into the spotlight.

In my opinion the victories over Tarver, Pavlik an Pascal were better than the victory over Tito, not for the performance but because the first 3 are the same size of Hopkins, Tito was smaller
