The sudden realisation of being in the biggest fight of your life - and against the best boxer in the world - will kick your nerves into action. I think Floyd also make this statement, because he too was overcome with nerves recently, when facing Oscar De La Hoya - go watch the fight from the start again if you disagree with me.

Ortiz has crumbled before, it's not so farfetched to think it could happen again, especially when taking into account all the variables.
That was the first fight that Mayweather was in that was massively anticipated, not just by boxing fans. Even I remember being interested in it and I admit I was fairly new to the sport.

And you're right, Mayweather must've been a little bit nervous in the first rounds. I mean, it's not to say he's ALWAYS bad in the first rounds, but it's important to note that AT THE END OF FOUR ROUNDS, Oscar de la Hoya was up by 2-3 points on at least 2 of the judges' scorecards.

So we have went from speculating that Ortiz might have nerves, to hoping that Ortiz doesn't use the nerves as an excuse when he loses.. I see. Good job NSB.
