UFC is a joke, Carano is going to get a title shot

It is pretty rife in boxing I will admit that but as mma evolves then it will become the same with alphabet belts, promoters, etc.

Even if it does, the UFC belt will be considered the most legit one, like the title belt from The Ring used to be and sometimes still is in boxing.

And like there has never been anyone undeserving of a title belt or title shot on boxing? With all the BS mandatory defenses these corrupt governing bodies force on champions. Going back further the WBC just handed a title belt to Ken Norton after only winning a number one contender fight, not a title fight and Leon Spinks getting a title shot 7 fights into his career or that boxer on Friday Night Fights on ESPN 2 recently that got a title shot in his second pro fight, Vasyl Lomachenko.

You're a joke. Boxing does not give retired fighters for 5 years coming off the loss title shots. Stop embarrassing yourself and leave the thread.

Then apparently you've never heard of James Jeffries. You're right, boxing gives a fighter that has been retired for SIX years a shot at the title. The point here is just because they have fights that are a joke doesn't mean the whole promotion is, just like when someone gets an undeserved title shot in boxing doesn't make that sport a joke either.

The UFC prides itself on not following the Boxing model, Dana has stated a number of times, he wants to put on competitive fights and no freakshows or mismatches. If he allows Gina to come back after 5 years and off a loss to fight for the title, thats purely a $$$ move and a damn shame. The one fight people are really looking forward to in WMMA is Cyborg vs Rousey but we all know Dana wants to protect his cash cow, Ronda Rousey. Gina would be an easy fight for Ronda, easy fight for Dana to market to casuals due to the sex appeal angle.

It seems like gradually the UFC is becoming more and more like Boxing tbh, most of the cards are watered down and the matchmaking is starting to get silly. People are also getting more selective in what they watch, their brand isn't as strong as it once was.

Well nobody would deny that, HayZ. That doesn't mean the UFC doesn't still put on good fights though. If this happened, the fight would be a joke though, not so much the UFC. And Dana White spews bull**** all the time, like bashing Fedor after he was unable to sign him and there are entire Youtube videos devoted to how Dana White has contradicted himself. I only mentioned boxing because it was brought up already in this discussion.

I really don't even know why MMA needs promotions anymore, anyway. But I guess they want to be THE organization for their sport, like the NBA or NFL.
