Vanes was doubling on the hook constantly, though. He just never mixed it up. It was always to the body. He might have been able to win more rounds if he started throwing body then head, head then body, get Lara thinking about where that left hook is going to go rather than letting know be content to block or absorb the body shots. Maybe he would have caught Lara like Angulo did.

Not saying it is a certainty he would win or anything, but Vanes made a big mistake in that regard.

Lara wasn't there to be hit with the third shot, he would either get out of vanes range of make him pay with the right and then the straight left, it easy to say than done, in order for what you suggesting to work, the target have to be stationary...

I'm not talking about a third shot. Numerous times Vanes was able to double with the hook. it was his best punch and the punch that was winning him what rounds he won. Every time he went to the body with both hooks. He should have thrown at least some of those to the head. Give Lara something to think about besides absorbing or blocking body shots with that left hook.
