I'd much rather run into your average angry gun owner than one of these crazy fools.

It's not about going back in time before guns and the atomic bomb, it's asking the question of, are these things needed in our society? Yes they have some benefits, but the negative aspect of them out weighs that.
I own a gun and it's for home use only. Why? Because I don't want someone coming in my house with a gun. That doesn't mean I will kill them, as a matter of fact, the stats show owning a gun means you are more susceptible to being shot.
It's like I'm a prisoner of this gun culture. If you can't beat them, join them. so now we are all like fukin Cowboys.
I think we're way past that question now in days

Considering the fact that murder rates in the US tend to be higher in those cities with the strictest gun control, that you will never eliminate every last civilian gun in this country, it's a bit of a silly question.
There was this interview that was done in the last days of Albert Einstein and he famously said he regretted the early work he had done in the development of Atomic energy because of what it became.
Even when asked about the benefits of atomic (that later turned into nuclear energy) he never changed his opinion. Reason being because he realized that the negative outweighed the positive and so is the same with guns.
Do guns save people's lives? Sure they have and will continue to.
But if you took all the people who were murdered needlessly because of them and put them against a list of people who were saved by them, it wouldn't even be close.
You pro gun people have won, so this debate IMO is useless.
Gun manufacturers and the NRA have managed to scare enough people so they can go out and by guns as an answer to everything.
They have been successful in the propaganda of making it PATRIOTIC to own a gun
and only wimpy, socialist liberals don't own them.
They have also made you believe that owning one makes you that much more safe.
All of these are lies
stats show that and America is one of the most violent places on earth
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...by_murder_rate
even though we are the most religious
and everyone and their mother is walking around with a gun.
So I think Piggy's point is a valid one, futile nonetheless, but valid. I would much rather live in a world without them but since we have handed them out like tic tacs, it's the wild fukin west in this mother fuker.
Yeeeee Hawwwwwww!!!!!

Given that a call to 911 has a 30 minute minimum response for me, I believe it makes me safer. Which is all that matters.
Your main reason for owning a firearm is so you can go Rambo on an entire criminal organization if the need arises? Is it really all that matters if statistics show that you're delusional in thinking you're safer by owning a firearm?

You don't like firearms then don't ****ing buy one, plain and simple
If the US was split in 2 and all the responsible firearm owners were put on one side and the anti-gun liberals on the other side with all the gang bangers (that don't obey no mofoking laws and couldn't care less if guns were banned or not) with their illegal firearms where would you rather be?

Had we not developed the atomic bomb and won the war when we did, Germany's scientists (who were already very close when the war ended) would've given them the advantage to win WWII and change the course of history for the considerably worse.

If you really believed this, you wouldn't come out from behind your rock every time a gun debate comes up. You're also an anti-gun person who owns a gun (a Glock .40 cal even!,) which makes you a hypocrite.

So you just own one in protest?

Most of them, at least the ones you made up, I agree.
Not nearly as violent as Mexico or Brazil (who together make up 25 of the 50 highest homicide rates in the world,) who have draconian gun laws. Get caught with a .22 bullet in Mexico next visit and see what happens to you.

We aren't, but what exactly does this have to do with anything?
Is this another one of those posts where you use extreme exaggeration to attempt to make a point?
Lucky for you, you have dual citizenship, so you can choose to live in a country where guns are banned (Mexico.) I hear it is a murder free paradise.
