    I don't really like punching with weights, unless they are really light weights, like 5 lb weights are probably too heavy. I can get into further explanation if anyone has questions on why.

    As for dropping your left, it's pretty common. Training in the mirror is spot on advice. I think a mirror is one of the most important tools you can have when you are forming your punching technique. It gives you a chance to self assess and find out what type of "tells" (or non-verbal signals) you are giving off as well as a check yourself for openings.

    Relax, shadow box a lot, especially slowly, focusing on the perfect execution, especially in the mirror but also without.

    The other thing is to do some work with your left actually taped to your headgear. Right hand only work on the bag for a round, on the mitts for a round. Even very light right hand only sparring for a round with a very cooperative partner. Good luck.
