That was a 2 sentence line in the whole article, it wasn't a story about Obama trying to keep his voting block happy. If you knew the context behind why the DOJ is threatening to pull federal funding against Maine, maybe you wouldn't base your opinion on 2 sentences. Maine has purposefully enacted provisions to make getting help very hard and are the least efficient state in providing help to those who need it. from drug tests, to work requirement that a Maine job market cannot sustain, to junk food bans, Maine has enacting provisions at the expense of the poor yet pocketing the money that government provides to aid in administering help (which is the funding that the government is threatening to pull).

Maine has cut those on food stamps substantially, yet takes longer than ever to administer help to those tho need it, how does that make sense? They are collecting more than ever in funding, yet aren't doing their jobs, why shouldn't they get funding pulled?

I'm going to break it down really clearly for you..

1. Maine is trying to establish laws to prevent welfare abuse, like having photo IDs on welfare cards so they can't be sold to a 3rd party

2. Seems like a reasonable law, to curb abuse

3. Obama's regime is threatening to withhold funding of Maine doesn't stop their efforts to police welfare abuse.. Which indicates obama condones welfare abuse.

4. The left have a long history of pandering to the poor for votes, they have enslaved them on welfare.

5. This really isn't about if we should have welfare or not, it's about curbing abuse/fraud and obama is against it.. Now why would he be against putting photo IDs on cards to prevent abuse/fraud?? Think about it

You got all that from 2 sentences in that article? How about reading and finding out exactly why the DOJ is threatening pulling funds? Its not all about IDs, in fact its a small part of it and the DOJ was threatening it before that.

The reason for DOJs is because Maine has instituted reform has caused their efficiency to drop to last in the country making it very hard for someone to get help and also a very long time. This combined with drug tests, work requirements in a poor job market in maine, junk food bans, removing those with savings, etc have put a burden on the poor and those who need it while still receiving federal funding for the administration (the money the DOJ is threatening to pull). Basically getting paid to do less work. Why shouldnt DOJ pull their own money if they arent using it correctly?

Can we please read issues and not just post "obama and liberal devils blah blah blah'; with just reading 1 sentence from an article and having no clues about the actual context and issues?

I don't even see the issue. The money on the cards are going to spent regardless. theyre basically just negotiating with it lol.

The primary fraud was on the vendor level. How it works is a vendor is reimbursed money for every sale paid for with food stamps. So, if they fake a sale without selling anything, they get "reimbursed" and defraud the system.

This is by far the biggest fraud threat.. at the vendor level.

one of my wifes friend is a hoe, she has 4 kids with 4 different baby daddies. only have been married to one of them and then cheated and got prego again with kid #4 , the guy she cheated with didn't even want her after she left her husband for him, LMAO

ok, she make decent money working in a hospital, gets mad child support from all 4 baby daddies and gets $900 a month in food stamps. $900 for just food is crazy. She would sell the extra money she have at 1/2 price, which was around $400-$600 a month

a long time ago, my wife had lost her job, I asked her to go get on food stamps to help out some for a few months, we got approved, $25 a month, they said that at that time $25k a year was too much, that's around $12/hr. We turned it down, it was like a slap in the face.
