I guess I'll have to get used to the new faces of the new heavyweight era.(Vitali,Ruiz,Byrd,Toney, etc)I was lucky enough to grow up in the era of Tyson,Holyfield,Lewis,Foreman and have many fond memories of these fighters and their exciting fights. But right now, no one in the division really intregues me. I'll probabaly start following the lower weight division with more interest.
I was referring to Lamon and Calvin being the top guys now.
I stand corrected. I just read it wrong. Agree with your point. While I do respect and enjoy the Klitchkos, I don't think Vitali has proven he is truly the best heavyweight out there. The loss to Byrd must be avenged and even though he looked impressive against Lewis, it still was a loss. Wins over Sanders and Williams don't merit a championship dynasty. Fights against Rahman, Brock, Ruiz and Brewster would be more respectable. Wins over Toney, Byrd, or even Lewis would give a more legit claim to the throne.
Why don't you guys get off Vitali's back! (Thats not supposed to be a joke either) He is injured!!! Rahman isn't gonna be ready in one month to fight Vitali, and he might not even beat Barret. Since the Rock/Barret fight is pushed back to August 13, there is now way that either fighter will be ready in September to fight Vitali unless it is a one round fight. Vitali has to defend against the winner of this fight by December. Why should he just sit back and have to wait till then for one of these two to be ready. I think it is more than ok for him to take a fight in September when he is heeled up and not have to wait an extra 3 months to fight. He will fight the winner by the end of the year. Just relax and have a little faith in him. He is doing the right thing by taking a fight before this one so he is ready.
