        I got 288.

        48/2(9+3)

        Do the parenthesis first.

        9+3=12

        48/2(12)

        48/2=24

        24(12)=288

I know i'm terrible at math, but can some one explain the logic behind 2 being the answer? Is it some kind of math I didn't learn to do in school or something lol. What am I missing here.

They are dividing 24/12 instead of multiplying 24x12

The answer is 2. The problem looks like it has more than one answer because are treating it as a calculation in a string form instead of as a fraction. So people are calculating it thus:

                  48/2 = 24
                  24 x (9+3) = 24 x 12 = 288.

This is incorrect. This problem is not in fact an equation, it is a fraction. It should be treated like this:
                  48
                  --------
                  2(9+3)

                  or

                  48
                  ----------
                  2 x 12

                  or

                  48
                  ----
                  24

                  or

                  2
                  --
                  1

which of course is just 2.

                    This is a troll question.

I would know since I made this same thread a year or two ago.

That bring said, my answer is whatever kadyo's answer is.
