Trout: Cotto put up a better fight than that

Canelo's best round was on par with every rpund Cotto fought except for the 12th. Saying Floyd fought a different fight is bull****. I will never buy that. Cotto simply just cut off the ring and fought a better game plan.

This is all nitpicking either way. Cotto won 3 rounds, 4 at the most. He was competetive in 8 rounds. But Floyd won that fight clearly just not the shut out he won tonight.

More than half the guys Floyd has fought put up a better fight than Canelo did.

Gomez was outboxing this guy for ****s sake. If not for the kd Trout would have had a good argument for a draw. Canelo is a good fighter, he is not on the level of Marquez, DLH, Cotto, Castillo, etc. I would favor him to beat Cotto snd Msrquez, but in terms of boxing ability he is on a level below.

About the same, really. But people tend to grossly exaggerate just how well Cotto performed in his fight with Mayweather. So few expected him to even put up a decent fight that when he exceeded the expectations, people started seeing more than what was actually happening.
