As boxing fans, we really don't have a choice on whose our favoriter fighters want to fight. Its up to the fighter, their manager, and their promoter. Mayweather fans can scream that they want PBF to fight Paul Williams but PBF choose Matthew Hatton instead. Pac fans can scream that they want Pac to fight Bradley but he choose Margarito.
Even if we don't like it, since Top Rank si matching Pac against Cotto or Margarito, who would you pick?
I am leaning towards Margarito. The reason is Pac already beat Cotto. Even with the cheating scandal, Margarito can still Pac some problems. Some fans claim that Margarito's chin has cracked, but it came from a stronger fighter in Mosley. Pac is still a small WW and unproven at jr. MW(as being reported that the fight will be at 154). Pac might have knockdowned Cotto twice but that has been done to Cotto before. Pac has decent power at 147 and who knows at 154. Margarito still has a good chin and will go forward. Pac game plan will be just like against Dela Hoya. But Margarito would be throwing way more punches that Oscar. But Pac with his speed, diffirent angles, and foot movement, will win on UD.
If their is a rematch, Cotto should face and beat someone like Angulo, Matirosyan, Alcine, Powell, or Dzinziruk. At least a win over this can say that Cotto still has a lot left.
