  • Fantasy Boxing Olympics: If they used Professional fighters

Obviously this could never happen, but lets have a little fun with this. If the Boxing Olympics happened and each country could use their professional fighters, how would the results be for each division, and which country would get the most medals???? I'll leave out Crusierweight, and everything below Bantamweight, if you want to add them than go ahead for sure. I'm just doing the weights we mostly talk about on NSB. I'm leaving Gamboa at 126, Maidana at 140, Bradley at 140, Guerrero at 135, but putting Alexander at 147, Donaire at 122, and Marquez at 135.

    Heavyweight:
    Gold- W. Klitschko (Ukraine)
    Silver- V. Klitschko (Ukraine)
    Bronze- Povetkin (Russia)
    Runner Up- Huck (Serbia)

    Light Heavyweight:
    Gold- Hopkins (United States)
    Silver- Dawson (United States)
    Bronze- Campillo (Spain)
    Runner Up- Sillakh (Ukraine)

    Super Middleweight:
    Gold- Ward (United States)
    Silver- Bute (Romania)
    Bronze- Froch (United Kingdom)
Runner Up- Andre Dirrell (United States)

    Middleweight:
    Gold- Martinez (Argentina)
    Silver- Proksa (Poland)
    Bronze- Pirog (Russia)
    Runner Up- Chavez Jr (Mexico)

    Super Welterweight:
    Gold- Lara (Cuba)
    Silver- Cotto (Puerto Rico)
    Bronze- Kirkland (United States)
    Runner Up- Williams (United States)

    Welterweight:
    Gold- Mayweather (United States)
    Silver- Pacquiao (Philippines)
    Bronze- Ortiz (United States)
    Runner Up- Alexander (United States)

    Super Lightweight:
    Gold- Bradley (United States)
    Silver- Khan (United Kingdom)
    Bronze- Peterson (United States)
    Runner Up- Maidana (Argentina)

    Lightweight:
    Gold- Marquez (Mexico)
    Silver- Rios (United States)
    Bronze- Guerrero (United States)
    Runner Up- Vazquez (Mexico)

    Super Featherweight:
    Gold- Broner (United States)
    Silver- Uchiyama (Japan)
    Bronze- Salgado (Mexico)
    Runner Up- Martinez (Puerto Rico)

    Featherweight:
    Gold- Gamboa (Cuba)
    Silver- Salido (Mexico)
    Bronze- Lopez (Puerto Rico)
    Runner Up- Garcia (United States)

    Super Bantamweight:
    Gold- Rigondeaux (Cuba)
    Silver- Donaire (Philippines)
    Bronze- Nishioka (Japan)
    Runner Up- Shimoda (Japan)

    Bantamweight:
    Gold- Moreno (Panama)
    Silver- Mares (United States)
    Bronze- Agbeko (Ghana)
    Runner Up- Darchinyan (Armenia)

This is just my guess on how things would play out.

I wanted to put Lopez ahead of Salido, but I figured I'll wait for March 10th. I bet you were surprised that I had Proksa that high huh??? The guy looks really legit from the fights I've seen on youtube.

Sure their scoring system wouldn't twist things around a bit?

I think I can agree with most of that list, but with a different scoring system; I'm not quite sure.

That's true, I didn't really think about that. I guess it's just a fantasy fight for each, I don't know. Just wanted to see what people think would happen in each division.

I meant I bet you were surprised I put him that high because we've had disagreements about a lot of stuff and because I know you're a big Proksa fan, but yeah. Yeah, I'm not riding with him all the way and he won't be on my sig of favorites yet, but I am a fan. He looks like a f**king beast, and the RING Magazine pic he's got.......dude looks scary as hell in that picture.

                  Yeah, I know whatya mean.

Again, more or less I think your list is accurate though. Most of those fighters I'm sure have the fundamentals to get the job done either way. Probably some variations here and there.
