  • Would a robbery ruin the Super 6 tournament?

Would a robbery ruin the Super 6 tournament? Normally when there is a robbery or bad decision, everyone freaks out, but ultimately, after each fighter's respective next fight.. Both fighters can comfortably move on. However, in a tournament, if a fighter is robbed or receives a bad decision, it would affect the next round of the tournament. Effectively tainting not just the two fighters involved in the bad decision but the credibility of the entire tournament. Potentially cheapening whatever turns out to be the final/championship bout. I think it would really suck if there are bad decisions and everyone has to move forward with this elaborate/time consuming tournament as though everything is legit if it's not. Imagine for example: Jermaine Taylor(or anyone for that matter) gets robbed.. It would then ruin the fight for whoever has to face AA next.. A couple bad decisions could result with boxing fans dismissing the tournament as a total cluster****. Has anyone else considered the effects of a bad decisions in this tournament? What does everyone think?

get what you're saying, either way, bad decisions happen and the tourney is the right thing for boxing imo, it should happen in other divisions as well.

I suppose in this case, and in order to try and get a clear cut winner, they introduce a 13th round (??)

I couldn't bring myself to doing it.. I'm going to try and have some threads that don't involve polls.. TBH I just love seeing poll results!

Bad decisions will make it better? I'm just saying bad decisions will have a greater negative impact than they typically would when bad decisions occurr outside of tournament play.

Not for me but I try to not get hung up on such matters. For some it probably would though because they do really care about this kind of thing.

It's such a global thing there would be a horrendous outcry and something I think would be done. Nothing as cohesive as this has been attmepted before as far as I am aware.

If a fighter was robbed, and decided to buy himself out of his contract with the tournament that could have a pretty major impact.. Suppose AA wins, then goes on to fight Ward and loses via bad decision. It wouldn't be so crazy for him to decide he didn't want to be part of the tournament anymore had it been a blatantly poor decision.

Yer, this is one of the reasons I think there should be 2 more judges watching a TV broadcast of the fight with just the ring sounds. They would be in separate rooms in a different part of the arena. Help reduce BS.
