Malcolm X was...WAS a bigoted prick. But he turned himself around after he went on the pilgrimage to Mecca. It was Islam and his experiences in the east which changed his thinking. He deserves recognition for that, at least.

I believe he probably did more harm than good while he was alive. He was a criminal in his early years and spread a negative racist message for many more. I think he was a good man when he died, but hes nowhere near worthy of a holiday.
