one of pacquiao's closest buddies, cebu-based businessman rex “wakee” salud thinks it’s not wise to fight marquez right away. he said there is no need to rush and that pacquiao should fight another opponent first, a tune-up fight which will give pacquiao confidence before facing marquez for the 5th time.
salud and pacquiao have been inseparable since 2005, right after pacquiao's loss to erik morales. after the pacquaio-marquez 4 fight, when salud went inside pacquiao's suite, pacquiao seemed ok and were even telling jokes.
he also told reporters if pacquiao fights again next year, he wants pacquiao to focus entirely on boxing. pacquiao's mind is into politics, into religion and that he’s accommodating too many friends causing pacquiao to loss focus.
there seems to be some discord in the pacquiao camp, some believe pacquiao should be back in the ring in a tune up fight as soon as possible while roach and arum thinks it's best if pacquaio takes a break and fight again in september 2013. i for one think pacquiao should be back as soon as possible and acquire a belt first before facing marquez in a rematch just to up the stakes, that way, more people will tune in for the 5th installment.
