Like others have said, it's about money. Cotto vs Foreman was a win-win situation for Bob Arum. If Foreman wins, he has a new fighter he could promote. Yes, part of the appeal is Foreman is Jewish. If Cotto wins, well you obviously are seeing a possible Cotto vs Pacquiao or Cotto vs Margarito fight or Cotto vs Chavez jr. fight. In any scenario it's a win, win, win situation for Bob Arum.

I would say the opposite about Bob Arum and Cotto though. Cotto has had a WONDERFUL career, a hall of fame career even, and largely that is in part because Bob Arum got him the best fights available. Sure cotto hasn't been protected like some guys out there, but in the end, Cotto always demanded that he fights the best opponents, and that's exactly what he's done.

IMO, Bob Arum did a terrific job with Cotto. He's won multiple belts in multiple divisions, he's fought the biggest names, he became a star, and he still is going to be involved in big fights.

What's to complain about? Isn't that what every fighter dreams for?!?

    Good post, ИATAS206.
