    The tales - and the question marks that follow in its wake - of boxing history is always a fascinating read.

    Peter Corcoran, generally listed as ‘world’ bare knuckle heavy champ 1771-76, won the title on a 1st-round stoppage of William Darts.
    Darts believed to have been bribed to lose the fight.

    In 1776, Harry Sellers relieved Corcoran of the title, in 18 or 32 rounds (depending on source).
    It’s believed Corcoran threw the fight.

    Well, back in those days, how to get money to survive another day was surely more important than protecting one's honor.
