I prefer 2-2-1-1-1 as well but think about it, at the end of the grueling season, that's a lot of travel. That's why it is how it is.

But it seemed rather strange changing the format in the finals alone this year after starting the playoffs throughout with a 2-2-1-1-1 format.

No its not, the 2-3-2 format is the one that NBA always use in the finals.

Who cares about them having to travel so much. They fly first class, stay in the ritzy resorts and are treated like kings. It a game not a country club. Athletes are becoming spoiled and soft.
