Yes he did have a deal agreed with gbp, it doesnt mean he has to speak to him to do it. remember greenburg? he made the deal and a fair contract for both parties, they sent it out to both parties, arum accepted for manny and thought gbp would accept as well

I'm getting "way too into this", yet you have posted more in this thread than me.

Anyways, Arum NEVER had a deal in place with GBP! Never! You know how I know, because GBP was NEVER a part of the "negotiations". He NEVER negotiated with GBP. Schaffer represents GBP and he NEVER spoke with them. Arum LIED about having a deal in place with them, completely lied. And, Arum said it was Greenburg and Haymon. Haymon doesn't speak for GBP, nor is he on their team.

    • ok better to say greenburg spoke with team mayweather then? they are the people telling fibs

either way mate, greenburg got the terms for both and sent them out, negotiations took place indirectly via a third party like though an agency when buying a house

the fact even oscar said a deal was done in a long convo shows negotiations took place and everyone thought they were done bar team mayweather who had their own agenda to avoid the fight. would you say thats a fair statement?

anyway I am off, I am really tired of the may vs pac threads tbh (not of you as you are one of the logical fans I met) but I am simply bored in going around in circles and I am sure you feel the same

now for greenburg that is negotiating, he is getting details from both and trying to iron out, for Arum, all he has done is given mannys terms and knew nothing more as greenburg was dealing with it all, so to him no negotiations are taking place until they get a mutual contract agreed from both terms

look, just stop clutching at straws, I know you like mayweather, but him and his team lied to save their face when they ducked the fight, just move on.

gb and mayweathers are now proven liars and that is a fact.

remember arum was getting details after like 2-3 weeks after he spoke with greenburg at the start, things were going very slowly, that is what you are forgetting leaduppercut, greenburg was negotiating the terms while arum and gb were sitting back and waiting, so they were not negotiating and did now know what was going on
        STOP !!

bro, I will simplify the question for ya.....

WEEKS after Greenburg claimed that he started negotiations, Arum insisted that no negotiations were underway, who was lying ?

        Got it yet ?

V-3 has a good point too.....

You should start a thread on the bold bro. You have a quote of Arum saying this?

Because 9 days after Greenburg (apparently) started " negotiations ", Bob Arum himself confirmed that NO negotiations were currently underway, and Ellerbe confirmed that there were no negotiations scheduled for the immediate future.....

And yet again..... 12 days after Greenburg (apparently) started " negotiations ", Arum again confimed that NO negotiations were currently underway, and Schaefer himself confimed that there were no negotiations scheduled for the immediate future.....

Even as late as 7 weeks after Greenburg (apparently) started " negotiations ", Bob Arum still insisted that GBP were representing Mayweather..... “ Patience, patience, patience, ” said Arum, who has been in the thick of negotiations with Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) regarding what is expected to be the richest fight in boxing history.....

In fact, the first time that I can recall Greenberg even being mentioned, was during Arum's conference call.

            * The first word of Pacquiao-Mayweather negotiations beginning came from Arum’s mouth.

            * The “gag order” provision also came from Arum.

            * everything we’ve heard about these “negotiations” has come from Arum…

I would be on the fence regarding who to believe if Arum had not established a long history of lying about the progress and status of behind-the-scenes fight negotiations. Paul Magno:

So who is the liar dude..... Greenburg or Arum ?
Man, how did I miss this?

arum but was it really relevant? maybe he didnt know how well the talks went on from greenburg and mayweather promotions?

I dont think its important, all arum was saying negotiations will take place soon while greenburg said they started earlier

isnt the main point mayweather not accepting/avoiding the fight due to vacation?

it doesnt really matter when negotiations took place, whats important is that they did and pac agreed to them

There is definitely some dodgy **** going on.

You have completely missed the point of this 100+ page thread, they didn't take place.

                  Start again from page 1

Actually, it does matter. We have Greenburg saying they started on the 2nd of May, but Arum says otherwise. Again, someone isn't being truthful. Which is it?

I dont know because you dont know what info as traded, maybe negotiations started on the 2nd and arum didnt know until greenburg got back to him 2 weeks later?

                      why does it matter?
