If you have the data, drop it into an Excel spreadsheet. Sort the column in ascending order. Count how many rows you have. Divide by two. that midpoint is the median . i.e: there are as many data points below and there are above.
Mean:
Add all of the data together and divide by the number of data ('n"0
Mean = sum of all data / n
"Mean" just refers to "the average".
Range:
Remember how you sorted the data for the median? using that same sort, just provide the lowest and highest data points.
For mean, you have to findd the average so you add all the numbers then you divide by the total of numbers that you had.
Mean: Let's say you have 6 numbers, so: 2 + 5 + 3 + 2 + 5 + 1 = 18. So now you divide 18 by 6 which is 3. So the mean of the numbers above is 3.
Mean is the middle value, so:
1,3,5,6,7,8,9
The median is 6 since it's the middle value. Note: You have to put the numbers in order to get the median.
