Former Kell Brook foe Carson Jones is still awaiting his first victory on British soil after the American fought out a pulsating draw with tough Irishman Dean Byrne at the Olympia in London.
After a bright start, Oklahoma-born Jones looked in control of a close contest at times, but ultimately allowed late replacement Byrne back into the fight in the final couple of rounds to see the bout scored 76-76.
The 26 year-old had hoped to reschedule his original contest with former British champion Lee Purdy for the spring, but may now find himself travelling back to the UK for another bout with ‘Irish Lighting’ next year.
Incredible result for Dean who only came in late too replace Lee Purdy
