  • how much does cutting weight take from your career?

Just think how floyd never really cuts weight and how that maybe giving his career more longjevity as oppose to hatton who might have shaved years off his

its very taxing, obviously. young guys can recover from draining yourself down, but once you get older, that shit catches up to you, QUICK. fighters that are in the game longer are the ones that keep their bodies in tip top shape year round, not just when they get a fight (floyd, hopkins, mosley, etc...)

    nutrition is key!!

i think its fairly obvious that if you stay in shape all the time then you will be better for it. guys like hatton who think they can eat and drink whatever they want and then do a 3 month camp pay for it in the end. did you see hatton at the weigh in for malignaggi?! he looked seriously ill! same with rios when he was at 135.

cant really compare hatton and mayweather though as brawlers traditionally have far shorter careers than defensive fighters...

        not disagreeing just saying...

Mayweather's longevity could be due to his defensive style though. He doesnt get hit much and I'm sure it helps he stays in good shape too.

              its obvious really

guys like pac and floyd focus on their boxing skills, tactics while conditioning themselves

Someone like hatton would spend weeks getting into shape to be be able to train EFFECTIVELY. SOmeone cutting weight a heck of a lot in camp will obviously be sacrificing training on his skills and the level he can train while he is overweight

End of the day, if you want to be a serious boxer then you need to be an athlete
