Thank you. Valid point. Floyd's looking pretty sweet at 36. We'll see how much longer he continues doing his thang.

I agree, Hopkins should be higher on the ATG list. Their both on it, Hopkins is higher than both Jones Jr, and May. Jr.

Hopkins is somewhere in top 15.

Yeah and Hopkins looked phenomenal at 36 beating Trinidad, probably his absolute peak physically and mentally. He started to visibly decline not lomg after (about 2-3 years later when he fought Allen it was clear he was slowing down ).

No way.Hopkins has an ATG resume but the other ATG fighters in his era beat him.

Calzaghe and RJJ beat him.He also lost twice to an excellent Jermaine Taylor. He had a great reign at MW forcing Joppy,Oscar, and Tito to move up in weight to fight him. He is top 6 ATG MW and an ATG but Floyd is better.

Mayweather has a way better resume and is unbeaten.

Do you understand what a boxing resume means? Its WHO you fight. Not how many paper champs you beat. Fighting Bruseles, Mitchell, Baldomir, old people is not better than fighting top fighters that were in their prime--even in defeat (close decisions).

I don't see one person counting Bruseles, Baldomir etc as good wins for Mayweather.

Even then, Hopkins doesn't get credit for losing to Jones or Calzaghe either.

You can't fault Hopkins, who was still a bit green, losing to Roy Jones. Mayweather was lucky there wasn't a Roy Jones for him to fight.

Also he was 43 years old against Calzaghe, still a good fighter but obviously past prime.

Tito did not move up to fight Hopkins (Tito was a 160 pound title holder)
Hopkins moved DOWN to fight Oscar (everyone talks about guys being weight drained but Hopkins weighing 156 pounds no one mentions!)

Couldn't agree more about how magnificent BHop was vs. Tito, as you saw in my previous post. So yeah, it will be interesting to see what Floyd shows us in the next few years, if he does hang around. As a fan (of boxing, not Mayweather) I'd like to see him set the goal of retiring 50-0, one more than Marciano. If he does, we will have even more grist for this comparison. Next test up: September 14th!

                    Look again...

Saying Floyd has a "way better resume" than Bernard is about as ridiculous as it gets.

Well that's their opinion, but I doubt they're saying it because of him beating Baldo lol
