Alot of good points on this thread

Yeah Floyd doesnt need Canelo, but showtime and GBP sure do

They want that fight badly bc thats the biggest money fight for them

And if im handling canelo I dont go down in weight at all.
We have no problem fighting cotto, kirkland, etc

What would be a bigger fight next cinco de mayo
      Canelo-Serg for middleweight championship
      OR
Floyd vs Alexander or khan for welter belt

Pressure is on Floyd to deliver numbers for showtime

Canelo isnt a ppv star yet, never headlined a ppv, just beat his toughtest foe in trout to unify division.
NOBODY IS EXPECTING CANELO TO DO 1 MIL BUYS
EVERYONE EXPECTS FLOYD TO DO OVER 1.2 EVERYTIME

PRESSURE IS ON FLOYD--AND HE CANT USE THE BOB ARUM TOP RANK EXCUSE

        Floyd calls the shots

Floyd calls the shots. You people are hilarious. Canelo has never had a PPV, ever. LOL, and he wants to dictate. Once again, you want it one way, but its the other way. This is a waste of time.

          floyd absolutely needs saul alvarez.

floyd got 5 fights to pad out. the ww division is a terrible, barren division - to the point where this literally isnt a credible foe left.

if floyd puts fans through another pac-like negotiation fiasco again, and doesnt fight such an obvious opponent, his credibility will be shot to ****. if you thought the guerrero fight underperformed, wait tll you see the numbers for his next fight - which, lest we forget, is only 4 months ago, which also takes away from the "big annual event" thing he has been doing for the last few years.

showtime really need to check the contract to see if there's a break clause in there. cos they're about to get ****ed.

Floyd will still be fine, will still be making money and will still be highly thought of~

Need implies he has to do something which he really doesn't, he may want the things that a Canelo fight brings but he doesn't need them~

You are right. Canelo has never had a ppv headline.

THats why there is no pressure on him

ALL THE PRESSURE IS ON FLOYD BECAUSE EVERYONE EXPECTS HIM TO DO MONSTER NUMBERS IN THE 1.5 AND HIGHER RANGE.

ONLY CANELO CAN DO THAT FOR HIM RIGHT NOW

SO THE PRESSURE IS ON FLOYD TO LIVE UP TO THE 30 MIL GUARANTEE THAT SHOWTIME HAS HIM UNDER

This thread is about canelo's handlers

it basically states that if floyd demands a catchweight or 147, canelo should pass on it and fight cotto or whoever.
Nobody expects canelo to do 1 mil plus without floyd, but canelo can easily do chavez-serg type numbers which realistically is big money

floyd trying to get monster money-all time career paydays and become the first billionaire athlete.

Outside of manny, nobody floyd fights will do over 1.2 mil except for canelo.

I'm far from a Floyd fan but this is laughable really -- Floyd Mayweather's net worth is give or take 150 million at the moment. He needs nobody. He could retire today and so long as he doesn't blow it all on gambling and whatever else, he and his family are already set with more money than they could ever dream of. Plus the next generation.

Everything else is just icing...and there's still plenty of icing left to go.

I don't see CBS giving $32 million again to a guy who just cost them $10-$50 million

And HBO probably doesn't want him

Canelo is far more exciting to watch and could sell 500k PPV against Cotto
