Go to the AppStore/Android Market, download the speed test app from speedtest.net.

If your phone is 4G, post your 3G and 4G ping/download/upload speed.

Post screen shots if possible.

A coworker of mine has an iPhone 4S with AT&T and his 3G is pretty much the same speed as my 4G (albeit, only 1 bar of 4G). I'll post my results later when I leave the office.
