Disagree, big wrist, chest, forearm could indicate big frame, big waist could indicate excess fat etc. I don't think it's pointless at all.

I'm thinking these stats helped people convince other people to throw down bets on the wrong guy.

I think most of those measurement have little or no effect on an athletes success, therefore they are mostly irrelevant. Look at the NFL combine, pplayers that kill it in the combine usualy don;t alweays make the best pros.

I agree to an extent. There might be a correlation between measurements and power which could be interesting. Who knows. then again, Mathysse is a prime example of a non-muscular gut with lots of power!

So much goes into boxing beyond measurements. Mental fortitude, ring IQ, etc. The measurements are kind of interesting for statistical purposes, but they are highly irrelevant. Still it might be interesting if we still had them and could draw a correlation between fight performance and muscle size.
