WES SIMS: Ready to Put Events of UFC 43 Behind Him and Move On to Fight at UFC 45

Wes Sims appeared recently on the MMAWeekly Radio Show and talked about many different topics. Before we get to the recap of the radio show, see him and Din Thomas go at it in this week's edition of In the Cage on MMAWeekly TV.

Now back to his radio apperance. When asked about Tim Sylvia's positive test result for steroids, Sims said that he was surprised to hear the news and that Sylvia definitely made a mistake, but he added that everyone makes mistakes. When asked to estimate what percentage of MMA fighters are taking steroids in his opinion, Sims said that he doesn't want to guess because he has no idea. Wes said that he knows he doesn't take steroids and that's all that matters to him.

Wes Sims said that he is training hard for his next fight, which he said will most likely take place at UFC 45 in November. Sims said that he isn't sure who his opponent is going to be, but there have been a couple of names put out there and he will fight whoever the UFC puts in front of him. (He declined to mention any of the names). Sims said that he takes back everything he said on MMAWeekly Radio a few days after his UFC 43 fight with Frank Mir, and added that the adrenaline of the fight was still pumping at that time. Sims now feels that he would take back the stomps to Mir's head if he could do it all over again. He also said that he would like a rematch with Mir at some point because he was doing so well in the fight up to that point. Sims said that he gave Mir the best position a Jiu-Jitsu expert could hope for (the back mount) and Mir couldn't submit him, so he's confident about his chances of winning a rematch with Frank Mir.

Regarding his teammates at the Hammer House in Ohio, Wes Sims said that Kevin Randleman is scheduled to fight on Pride's November 9 card, possibly in an alternate tournament of some kind. Sims also said that Mark Coleman should be ready for his next fight in a month or two, and since he's a free agent he could technically sign with either Pride or the UFC. The fight with Don Frye in June was the final fight on Coleman's previous contract with Pride.

I for one can't wait to see him again. Beating ass, or taking an ass beating he brings some form of excitement to the cage in my opinion.
