I was at the Latchmere Leisure Centre in Wandsworth, SW London back in September 1991 for Duke McKenzie against a very young Cesar Soto and before the main event they introduced a load of boxers & also other sportsmen. It was well funny as we were in the hall were they played badminton & did judo etc. There was a bar on the floor above which has a glass wall so you could see into it.

They introduced up & coming Billy Schwer, Lloyd Honeyghan (who was dressed as a pimp), Dennis Andries (who the previous night had narrowly lost to Jeff Harding), Frank McAvennie (who was drunk - or Peruvian Marching Powder - & had three page 3 girls with him) & then they got to Alan Minter.

    MC - "Alan Minter"

    nothing

"Alan Minter. We have Alan Minter in attendance"

    nothing

"Ladies & Gentlemen, can anyone see Alan Minter?"

Some bloke shouts "He's in the bar"

4,000 eyes look up to see Mr Minter raising his glass from the bar upstairs....

Great night & Duke boxed masterfully against a decent young opponent.
