Nicholas Walters will put his WBA (super) featherweight title on the line when he faces unbeaten Colombian Miguel Marriaga at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.
The Jamaican is protecting an undefeated record of his own and has stopped 21 of his 25 professional opponents to date but in Marriaga, he takes on another fighter blessed with genuine power in both hands.
Walters snatched the belt from Alberto Garza via a fourth-round stoppage in November 2013 and has since made two defences - blasting out Vic Darchinyan in five and then stunning Nonito Donaire with a six-round battering in October last year.
