I don't have either fighter on my top 10 and Broner is not in the top 50. If you go by how good they could be then yes, they could both be great fighters. But as of today Gamboa has not done enough to be on many people's top 10 list and who did Broner beat that was on anyone's top 50.Floyd, Pac, Martinez and Ward fought their way to the top of the list with many wins over other top fighters. Gamboa has not done that yet and who is the best fighter Broner has defeated? If Broner beat Gamboa he would be getting close but he would need to do more to make my top 10.

Gamboa is one hell of a fighter. If Broner easily beats Gamboa, or knocks him out, he solidifies himself as one of the best right now, and is on a path to be one of the best of his era.

How exactly would a win over a guy who has never fought at lightweight shoot him into the top 5? I think very highly of Gamboa as a fighter, but that's not fair to all the fighters you are jumping Broner over.

If Gamboa were to fight at lightweight and look amazing against someone credible, then Broner beating him could get him on the back of the top 10.
