  • Neven Pajkic: "Tyson Fury's Team Poisoned Me The Night Before The Fight"

Mick Hennessey likely paid somebody in the hotel kitchen to slip Pajkic some bad food.

"I know they did it," Canadian champ Pajkic says of the Fury camp.

“I didn’t cover all the aspects of the game,” Pajkic says, blaming himself and his camp for naiveté in their first big overseas encounter.

“It’s my fault — I learned the hard way.

“Next time I cook my own food.”

Sure is. Not like it hasn't happened before. "Slip him the mickey."

I heard they **** bricks when Pajkic showed up looking ripped while Fury didn't even bother training.

And it turns out they were right to worry -- he still got knocked flat by a sick fighter. And had the ref rescue Fury from the fight with a quick stoppage.

Mick Hennessey didn't want to lose his golden goose so fast.

Not really. I like Fury, but he was not ready for this fight. He later admitted he didn't train at all.

And Pajkic trained harder than he ever has.

As far as the early stoppage, this what is Boxrec, a British site, says about the fight:

Neven "The Hammer" Pajkic fought Tyson Fury in Manchester, England for the latter's Commonwealth heavyweight title November 12th, 2011 and scored a stunning knockdown of the Manchester Goliath in the second round, then hurt him again seconds before the end of the round, Fury being saved by clutching and hanging on for dear life. Pajkic attacked again in round three and was pummeled and wrestled to the canvas. When he regained his feet, instead of back-peddling, he attacked the huge specimen in front of him and was cuffed and pushed to the canvas again. Again he rose up and attacked Fury, only to have an over-anxious referee step in and award the match to the local lad much to the disgust of fight fans in the arena and at home in Canada.

Unless you think Mick Hennessey is too above board to pull something like this, I don't think it's a very outlandish notion.
