    thats because hes only 28.

people get classed as ATG when nearing the end or finished in careers, unless they do a Muhammed Ali/Tyson and win and fearsomely defend the title almost fresh outta high school.

But Ward has acheived more than any SMW to date at his respective age.

                  etc.
Calzaghe : I would bet on Ward on that fight, would be close though
Ottke : what are you smoking
Hopkins : I would bet on a prime Hopkins on that fight, would be an incredible matchup
Jones : i would bet on a prime Jones to win a boring decision
Nunn : How can you know ? give me one fighter that Nunn has beaten that is on Ward's level. Nunn is overrated on this site. I would bet on Ward.
Leonard : Leonard ain't beating Ward at 168, I would bet my car on it
Hearns : I would bet on Ward on that fight, Hearns doesn't have the intelligence in the ring to beat Ward.
Hagler : I would bet on Hagler, incredible matchup
Monzon : Comparing fighter from different eras is dangerous. No one knows what Monzon would do against a modern elite fighter. I think youre just throwing name right here.

etc. : Who the hell are the etceteras ? you have other ideas ? just name them. Don't throw a etc. like there are so much other people.

So from this list I agree that I would bet on a prime Hopkins, Jones, and Hagler to beat Ward. I think that against Hopkins and Hagler it would be really competitive and interesting. I think that a prime Jones would comfortably win a decision, but still I've always thought that Jones wasnt "natural", if you know what I mean... Ward is a great fighter, he's only 27 years old don't forget it.

RJJ (and easy, maybe by (T)KO)
                    Calzaghe (65:35%)
                    Hagler (and easy)
                    SRL (and easy)
                    Hearns (close)
                    Eubank (close, maybe a 50:50)

Not sure about Ottke, but it would be a close fight. Even if he was protected, he offered some very good fights.

                      id say

                      - Calzaghe
                      - Benn
                      - Eubank
                      - Hopkins
                      - Robinson
                      - Roy Jones Junior
