yeah i can dig our standing army sporting post eastern euro commie bloc weaponry while traversing through dense tropical rainforest. that'll look badass !

doesn't have to be combloc gear. standard ak can't launch rifle grenades. galil/rk-76 israeli/finnish type AK can.

just ak type 7.62x39mm or similar caliber. the old nazi 7.92x33mm kurz round will do. or the modern 6.8mm spc or 6.5mm grendel the yanks just developed.

medium caliber .270-.323 over .223, medium weight bullet 100-150 grain over 55-62 grain.

the kanos got it wrong with the .223/5.56mm.

.223 small, fast bullets work great when it hits flesh or in lab gelatin tests. very destructive to the body. impresseive in gelatin.

but outside of the lab, bullets hit things like foliage, walls, etc.

and ppl hide behind things.

a heavier, slower bullet has barrier penetration.

also heavier bullet scares troops downrange.
