The number that is going around is 870k. They said before the fight that the break even number was 1.2 million. This means they lost over $21 million but I think Forbes said they only lost $12 million.

Either way, it was the biggest financial flop in the history of boxing. It was like when John Carter bombed at the box office

And remember, they had gave away 1,500 comps and still had over 100 empty seats. They were literally giving tickets away for free and people still didn't want anything to do with it.

It's pretty clear they did sub 900k or at least unacceptable numbers, otherwise they would have released the numbers officially to prove everyone wrong, but obviously they lost money and aren't willing to admit it, it's the only logical reason.

"So when enough data had come in that we were able to speak meaningfully, which was probably Friday, that's when we went ahead and confirmed that we will definitely be over a million buys. I'm not sure exactly how much over a million it will be, whether it be a little or a lot over a million, a lot of that depends on how some of the lagging buys come in and are reported over the next few weeks, but we definitely hit the million buy threshold."

Yet to this moment they have given literally no proof or solid number on the PPV, and you still believe them? Lol

the network (former gb employee) said he would release the numbers on a friday and it would do over a million

fat dan who is impartial said very good sources said the fight did closer to 900k to 1m, he ended with believe it or keep believing the lies gb feed you

the fight did less than a million, for the first time golden boy refused to reveal the actual numbers as they were low

showtime lost around 15-20m on the fight, hence forcing floyd to fight canelo

he is a former gb employee

                he is a former lawyer

thus like golden boy he has been proven to be a lair

as I said, everyone knows from legit boxing writers who have no reason to lie, the fight did around 900k buys

there is a reason golden boy refused to reveal official numbers, showtime lost big money on the first floyd fight

                you are in denial

Shosports said it did over 1 million buys. There's really no other source worth listening to.

Showtime rarely release numbers why should we be surprised now? Believing a writer with a dislike of the fighter over the head of the sports department makes little sense, unless you wanted it to fail.
