  • Another Kovalev blatant duck to avoid the unification of all LHW championship belts.

Today, Main Events went public with Kovalev's negotiating stance, putting the following out on its Twitter account: "Stevenson is lucky that we're offering 50/50. It's not a 50/50 fight anymore. That's the 'concession' he gets to fight on HBO... And when you fight on three different networks in your last three fights, you can't claim 'network loyalty.' That's ridiculous... Enough. Kovalev is the A-side. If Stevenson wants to fight him, Stevenson has to come to him." Kovalev, who just cancelled a November fight in Russia, seems likely to give former Jean Pascal a rematch in January, with world super middleweight champion Andre Ward also rumored to be in discussions for a 2016 fight.

    Lmao

Kovolev and especially his team (main events) need to shut the hell up.. They had a purse bid and backed out, even though they were the ones that begged for kovolev to become the mandatory and force a purse bid...

Notice how main event isn't worried about getting their man top dollar, they are just worried about being in control..

Kathy duva just needs to die already, I got no respect for her..

Pretty obvious Stevenson is scared, though Duva is pretty annoying. That BS she did with the cancelled purse bid is for *******.

She has a point about it needing to be on HBO though. HBO has Kovalev signed for the Ward fight. Anyone in their right mind knows Kovalev has no incentive of fighting on another network right now with a PPV match at the end of next year.

Is there something I am missing?

50-50 seems like a really generous offer for Adonis. Kovalev has been in the bigger fights. I think 50-50 is really fair.

Koalev gets more ratings, gets better TV deals, gets more asses in the arenas. Only makes sense. Why is it only a problem when fighters who aren't Cotto, Floyd or Manny do this? Be consistent.

Except for that he would get a career high payday if it went to purse bid..

You can't complain about stevenson ducking, when a purse bid was set and you backed out,,
If kovolev was going to get more money for a PPv fight, then hbo and duva would have bid on it, but in reality, Haymon was gonna pay kovolev more than hbo and duva..

You can spin it anyway you want, but kovolev's team ****ed him out of a career payday, just because they couldn't pay up

It's not a "duck" you daft moron. If Main Events or Kovalev wanted to avoid the fight then explain why they already had an agreement in place for it to happen before Stevenson left to sign with Haymon? This is entirely a network dispute. It's clear that neither side is going to cave - Main Events demand HBO, Haymon/Michel will never allow Adonis to fight on a non-PBC affiliated channel. At least Main Events is being transparent about it; Haymon and co. are pretending and posturing behind the purse bid idea, which they know the Kovalev team can't accept because of their HBO-exclusive deal.

So, again, the important point here = you are an idiot.

                  **** that ****..,,

She has screwed her own fighter out of a career high payday just because she couldn't match it,,,
If that dumb bytch was dead, kovolev would have already gotten a career high payday, and ko'd adonis, and would have been the man.. But instead, kovolev fighting aimlessly with no big fights til the end of 2016 at the earliest..

Come on Kov isn't ducking, I'm sure he's be more then happy to lay a beat down on Adonis its just his team signed an exclusive and want the fight to happen on their network for smaller $ instead of getting their fighter the most $ possible

Pretty much agree with what Sugar Adam Ali wrote except the death to Duva part, I'd just be happy if she left the sport
