I think PBF's barely squeaking past a past prime DLH, who's hardly been active for a few years, is certainly not a big victory. If Floyd was a really #1 p4p, he would have decisively defeated beaten DLH.

If Hatton squeaks by JLC, then it's like PBF win over DLH. But if he KO's or decisively decisions JLC, then he has won a bigger and better victory! I remember JLC actually beat PBF in their first fight, but the judges gave the win to PBF.
DLH was a bigger man going into the PBF fight. JLC is the smaller man coming into the fight. Furthermore, DLH is a much better fighter than JLC today and all-time. PBF deserves credit for his win over DLH. Hatton doesn't deserve as much if any if he beats Castillo...

Castillo is younger than De La Hoya, and he's been more active the past three years...

Who has been in more wars, DLH or Castillo? Who has had more fights, DLH or Castillo? Age doesn't mean everything, or else Vargas wouldn't have been shot at age 25...

its hard to give hatton a lot of credit because castillo showed nothing but the ko was impressive. castillo had never been knocked out before.

With that said, why should he be given credit for beating a fighter who is moving up in weight to fight him? When the tables are turned, why should Hatton be given credit when he is the bigger man going into this fight?

Castillo has fought above lightweight before, but never at the world class level. For a period after the Mayweather fights, he lost a bit of motivation after 2 devastating losses and ballooned up in weight to fight journeymen. All of Castillo's success has been at lightweight. Castillo is fighting an even softer opponent (Ngoudjo) than Hatton is this Saturday because they really don't know what Castillo has left after ruining his body due to dehydrating to make weight in recent years and even now struggling just to get to 140. They don't want him to look too terrible by putting him in against a proven, credible opponent.

Castillo's battles with the scales are just one part of it. He's had plenty of wars in the ring and many believe Corrales took away much of what Castillo had left in their first fight. Castillo didn't show much in his last fight against Reyes, which was just an awful fight. Castillo is a shopworn fighter. Hatton just doesn't deserve credit if he beats a career lightweight...

Man, all you guys and your "Castillo is shot" have to stop bitching. Hatton did what he had to do plain and simple. He retired Tzu and people also said it was because Tzu is Shot. If he were to beat Mayweather, you guys would probably say it's because Mayweather has been retired. You Hatton haters just have to let it go. The guy is undefeated and doesn't know how to lose. Give him credit where it's due.
