Pac since he avoided him like the plague....But then Pac was defeated by Bradley & Marquez...So. Personally , i'm not as hyped about this one as i used to be back in 2012...
Mayweather actually asked for the Canelo fight. Whenever he's "asking" for a fight (and not giving countless excuses to avoid it) , you can be sure that he feels very comfortable about beating his opponent.
He was once again technically perfect yesterday night. Canelo's only chance was to ko or tko or at least knock him down , like he did against Trout...Floyd's defense is amazing but nobody is invincible. He just hasn't fought anybody dangerous enough to put him in a critical situation.
Mayweather (and his camp) , is basically a combo of two things:
- Amazing talent.
- Selective match ups.
He's like a Federer...Only he has the luxury to avoid his Nadal.
In other words , he's not a fraud. He's a legit ATG...But even all time greats are beatable. And when , and if, an ATG manages to retire with a clean record.( Calzaghe comes to mind) , it's an indication of someone who knew when to quit or to select his opponents. Because styles make fights. You don't actually have to be "the best ever" to beat an ATG. Buster Douglas , Rahman ,Phillips...Defeated the likes of Tyson , Lennox & Tszyu.
Maybe Pac isn't Floyd's Nadal. Maybe it's someone else. Or maybe he "was" at some point in time , but not anymore. 2 defeats in a row can change a fighter. (mentally speaking)
