He was an exciting fighter to watch in his day but I would say no he doesn't make it the hall of fame. He got beat by MAB then he ended up on a milk carton missing.

Because he was another British hype job fraud.

He doesn't deserve anything he fought nobodies in a weak division. When he finally fought a somebody he got owned.

He went life and death (and was dropped) by a 1000 year old Keven Kelly, and lost the only time he fought any real competition in MAB and then quit. Nope. As famous as he was in England (which may skew your judgement on this one), he would have never been recognized on any street in America at any point. He was never even a mild bit of a name over here.

Must be why he was the only featherweight commanding Heavyweight type purses from HBO

Hamed was watched by people who didnt even like boxing.
Larry Merchant said that Hamed was the reason smaller fighters could now get much bigger pay days.
So not only was Hamed FW champion for 6 years and beat all other champions, he also changed the pay structure of boxing.
Who didnt he fight during those 6 years? JMM? No one even knew who he was until years later when he fought Pac.
Losing a UD to Barrera shouldnt be a big criticism when you look at other inductees.

I was wondering if Hamed almost killing a man in a car accident and running away from the scene and ending up in prison would have something to do with it?

Barry McGuigan is in there, it must have been a slow year.

There are plenty of guys that should be in their if Barry McGuigan is in there.

Better not hold out too much hope for Amir Khan either then.
