I caught "The Lobster" with Colin Farrell (John C. Reilly plays a minor role). You'll need to download selective subtitles if you're "streaming from Amazon" (wink wink) as there are brief moments of French dialogue in it, though no more than a minute.
I was quite disappointed tbh. The central concept sounded so left field - a man living in a world where only couples can exist has to find a mate within 45 days or be turned into a lobster - that I thought I'd love it. But there are so many stylistic choices (such as deliberately underplayed performances) that it was hard to really get with it. This said, I understand that sex scenes were cut from the version I saw, which may have added to the quirky humour (humor, Fat Yanks) of it.
It was okay, but I actually far preferred "Never Let Me Go" (Carey Mulligan, Kiera Knightly and Andrew Garfield) for a version of the future gone awry. That said, they were different types of film trying to achieve different ends.
