The blame is on Gamboa. But, I also believe Rios would have made weight because he would have been more motivated to make the weight against a Gamboa then would be against a F'ing Abril FFS's.Last edited by Roman Moreno; 04-13-2012, 11:55 PM.

People need to set aside their biases on this one. Gamboa wanted Rios. Rios accepted the challenge. Gamboa got his initial demands and didn't complain until the fight was already moving forward. In contrast, no one heard of Rios setting the terms of the fight or making any special demands. He's even getting the smaller purse, which is unusual.
Pretty clear that Gamboa is to blame.

Regardless of the opponent, Rios was supposed to make weight but he didn't. Rios and his team are the only ones to blame for that.

ya'll really blaming another professional athlete for one professional athlete not being able to make weight? a weight that he was suppose to be fighting at if he was to fight gamboa ANYWAY?

what happened to all the talk from you fools about Rios having this magical nutritionist that was gonna feed him legal wizard diet pills to have his 5'10/5'11 frame make 135 again in a "healthy" form? instead of showin up to the scales looking like a third world famine victim

If Rios and Gamboa fought at 135, then im pretty sure they would not agree to fight if Rios came in over 135.
Rios would be drained, and Gamboa would outclass Rios for 12 rounds.
If the fight already happened, then Rios would be fighting at 140 now with a loss on his record. Rios lucked out.
