Both are getting lit up but I feel Matthysse stops maidana.

Hmm, i'm not sure...Maidana has never been stopped, Matthysse could do it I suppose but I think it's a pretty even fight, hard to predict.

I think maidana could pull this off it would be a great fight i think maidana is more durable for this kinda bout mattysses eyes were not good in the garcia bout that could happen a lot earlier with maidana.Great fight good thread.

Hard to say...

Maidana has a size advantage... Atleast 5 pounds (fight would happen at 147 since Maidana can't go down but Lucas can go up)

Crazy to think Maidana edged him 3 times as amateurs... Maidana's boxing skill must have been getting worse since that point onwards no doubt..but now he is getting it together again with Garcia.

Matthysse drew/won/close lost to Alexander & Judah. I think without question he has the skill/boxing advantage over Maidana at this point in their careers.

Would make for a huge interesting fight. Maybe in 2 years time in argentina after/just before they retire. Started their career together..maybe end it together? Would be epic if they drew what a story.

Maidana is also more prone to getting hurt... Matthysse is all iron.


If/When this fight happens I can guarantee you guys that neither of these two will be prime. Maidana will have trouble making 147 by the time it happens...and neither will be how we currently percieve them. Both will still have power though ...

Maidana gets hurt in most of his fights, but the problem is, those who hurt Maidana aren't very good finishers. Lucas is great at finishing his opponents off. We haven't really seen Matthysse hurt THAT bad.
