  • Its been clear that no1 discusses fantasy fights with mayweather @ 130-140 because

he was at his best. It seems that all the fantasy fights are past his natural weight class because their are only a handful of fighters who could possibly beat him at 130-140

IMO the fights would make more sense there than in his 4th division discussing him vs other greats

He is a great fighter who won the welterweight title and super welterweight title but he is not an upper echelon all time great welterweight. He may beat some but fighters like Ray Robinson, Hearns, McCrory, Don Curry were some big ass welters and at a certain level, size plays a part no matter how skilled you are.

He has the ability to beat larger men because of his skills, know how and adaptability but i think its fair to say 130-140 only a handful could beat that Mayweather. Speed, power, defense, combos and counters.

why are his fantasy fights that are discussed on this site always at 147...the guys started at 130 and was at his peak at 130-140.....147-154 were just classes he was champ in because he is great fighter not a great welterweight per say

its more because he beccause he became a star there and no one knew who he was at 130-140 until the Gatti fight imo

he was in his 4th divison....its kinda a handicap to compare him to atg welter weights when he was a natural lightweight

Start the day with a couple of Floyd Mayweather Jr worship threads.

End it with a few anti-GGG threads.

Floyd's best weight was probably 135 or 140, but he knew he had to go up in weight to get the bigger money fights. So he went all the way to 154 to fight Oscar and then settled back to 147 for the rest of his fights save for going up to fight Cotto at 154 and agreeing to a catch weight of 152 for Canelo. He spent that majority of his career after becoming a star fighting at a weight above his ideal weight challenging himself every fight. It was always all about the money though, the money always meant more than 49-0, if it didn't he would have stayed at 135 or 140 his whole career and straight shredded guys, he had way more KO power at those weights.

Prepare yourself for an onslaught of the unbeatable 'the Duran Of Montreal' posts.

And for the record, PBF probably takes it at caneloweight and MW, with a Camacho like stick and move performance.
